Brown Falconer worked alongside Westminster to bring the Forder Centre and Westminster Green to life, creating a learning landscape that connects the campus both inside and out. At the heart of the design is Westminster Green, surrounded by the Forder Centre, forming a central hub that unifies the school and supports its philosophy of building community and preparing students for life beyond school.
The concept removes physical barriers and links previously segregated precincts, establishing a flexible outdoor space for whole-school gatherings, celebrations, extracurricular activities, breaks, recreation, and outdoor dining. These areas are designed to enhance student wellbeing, encourage contribution, and foster citizenship.
Inside, the re-orientated Michael Murray Centre (MMC) foyer welcomes students, staff, and visitors, guiding them through the Green and into the surrounding facilities. The permeable ground floor of the Forder Centre promotes incidental interactions and learning opportunities. Extended operational hours for the gallery, dining hall, and cafés encourage families to stay on campus, strengthening connections and community across the school.
