This project developed from the themes of a multi faceted community serviced by common facilities, resources and engaged with learning and research opportunities in partnership with tertiary institutions.
The project engages with a ‘greenhouse model’ based approach to dementia specific accommodation but explores the delivery of this at density with multi-storey construction. The project also provides for apartment accommodation suitable for NDIS as well as residential aged care with a design focussed on facilitating palliative support and visitation for higher levels of frailty.
All three different residential environments are linked through common servicing and access to shared community and retail facilities. The management of access, and the hierarchy of privacy for different building and outdoor area uses required careful planning.
