Eldercare Goodwood

Eldercare Goodwood is a new two storey residential aged care home designed to maximise garden areas and support efficient operations that prioritise resident facing care.

Located within an established residential setting, the project responds carefully to its surrounding context and neighbouring properties. Services and the majority of car parking are consolidated within a basement, reducing visual impact at street level while enabling a clear and efficient vertical service strategy and increased landscaped open space.

The design was informed by our bespoke Co-Lab process, establishing a clear hierarchy of privacy and integrating design cues that reference the local art deco main street through to the character of the suburban backyard.

The plan is organised as a series of small houses of 15 residents, arranged around shared central living areas across both levels. The building form is articulated into scaled elements that reflect the rhythm of surrounding detached housing, contributing to a familiar and domestic streetscape character.
