University of Adelaide – Allied Health

Design

To support their Physiotherapy Program, the University of Adelaide engaged Brown Falconer for the first stage of the New Allied Health Program.  We delivered one purpose built Rehabilitation Gym located in Hughes Level 1 and one Practical and Workshop Training space located in Helen Mayo North Level 2. Both spaces have ample open floor space for gait training and to incorporate various specialty equipment, with significant consideration given to acoustic separation to the surrounding offices.

The University’s brief was for a space that was light and airy, with a “wellness retreat” atmosphere. Consideration to biophilic elements were incorporated providing a calming feel. The spaces are reflective of real life practice and have ample storage to accommodate a variety of speciality instruments. We ensured there was a connection between the spaces, ensuring a common palette that translated across the school.
