Woolworths Inglewood is the quickest Woolworths project to date to proceed from inception to development approval nationally. Inglewood is an older Perth suburb with historic bungalows and art deco themed buildings, ensuring our design was sympathetic to the surrounding area and the local community was of utmost importance. The outcome is a bold contemporary response with art deco characteristics incorporating finer grain references, such as repetitive chevron patters in highly detailed screens. The glazed curtain wall “entry arch” and a vertical green wall “arch” are inspired by the bold vertical definition of the nearby art deco Astor Theatre music venue.
Opened in early 2021, this project is part of a current trend in WA moving away from greenfields town centre development into new infill, inner city and city fringe supermarkets.
